Nelson George Mixtape.

A compilation of greatest journalistic hits penned by the music writer Nelson George between 1978-1993.

the anthology of articles includes the first article ever written about DJ Kool Herc in 1978, the original typed up interview with Bob Marley in 1980 (plus the rejection letter he got back when he pitched it!), Quincy Jones in 1983, Prince 1981, Marvin Gaye 1984, and on and on.

Point is, good luck finding these interviews, essays and reviews anywhere else at all - these were all cut out from the papers and magazines at the time and scotch taped into George’s personal archive.

Now they are all scanned up into this neat book, giving valuable insight into the music and culture, the birth of hip hop in New York.

Edition of 500 copies.
